Arshdeep Singh has equalled the record for the most wickets by a bowler from a Full Member nation in a single calendar year in T20I cricket, with 39 wickets in 30 matches in 2026.
The record wicket came in the third T20I against New Zealand at Hnry Stadium in Wellington on Tuesday, when he dismissed opener Tim Seifert early and finished with 1 for 33 as India won by six wickets to take an unassailable 3-0 lead in the five-match series.
He now shares the top spot with Ireland pacer Joshua Little, who took 39 wickets in 2022, ahead of Wanindu Hasaranga's 38 in 2024 and Bhuvneshwar Kumar's 37 for India in 2022.
With 149 wickets in 102 T20Is, Arshdeep is India's leading wicket-taker in the format and needs just one more wicket to reach 150.
