Arshdeep Singh Becomes First Indian to Take 150 T20I Wickets
Arshdeep Singh has become the first Indian bowler to take 150 wickets in T20I cricket, reaching the landmark in India's fourth T20I against New Zealand at Eden Park in Auckland on Friday.
The milestone wicket was New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner, caught at sweeper cover for five in the 19th over of New Zealand's innings.
Arshdeep is only the ninth bowler in men's T20I cricket to reach 150 wickets, and only the third fast bowler to do so, after Tim Southee and Mustafizur Rahman.
He got there in 2,143 balls, the third-fastest of any bowler and the quickest by a fast bowler, behind Wanindu Hasaranga and Rashid Khan.
The wicket was also his 40th in T20Is in 2026, a new record for a bowler from a Full Member nation in a calendar year, passing Ireland's Josh Little, who took 39 in 2022.
Arshdeep's 150 wickets have come in 103 matches, and he finished this match with 1 for 38 as New Zealand posted 259 for 7 and went on to win by 87 runs, with India held to 172 for 9.
