Conway Ruled Out of ODI Opener After Training Collision

New Zealand opener Devon Conway has been ruled out of the first ODI against India at Eden Park in Auckland on Wednesday, 4 November, after suffering a concussion in a training accident on Tuesday.

The first ball is at 7:30 AM IST.

Conway collided with fast bowler Matt Henry while both went for the same catch during a fielding session at Eden Park.

Both players were treated by medical staff at the ground and went through head injury checks, and Conway was then taken to hospital, where further checks confirmed the concussion.

Henry is still being monitored and remains in contention for selection, while Conway's involvement in the rest of the five-match series will be updated in due course.

Conway is the latest injury blow for the hosts, who are already without Rachin Ravindra and Mark Chapman for the series, and Tim Seifert, already in the squad for the full series, is the likely cover at the top of the order.
