Kagiso Rabada has become the fastest bowler to reach 350 Test wickets in terms of balls bowled, reaching the landmark on day five of the series decider against Australia in Cape Town.

Rabada struck twice in his first over, removing Matt Renshaw for a duck and Marnus Labuschagne for four, before Travis Head fell for 14 to give him his 350th Test wicket in his 75th Test.

He got there in 13,808 balls, beating Dale Steyn's previous fastest mark of 14,719 balls, and is the second-fastest South African to the landmark in Tests after Steyn, who took 69 matches.

The burst left Australia reeling at 20 for 3 in their chase of 288 to win the match and the three-match series, which is tied 1-1.

South Africa had made 329 in their first innings and 387 in their second, after centuries from Ryan Rickelton and Wiaan Mulder, while Australia replied with 429 in their first innings.
