Baroda batter Priyanshu Moliya has set a new record for the highest individual score by a Baroda batter in first-class cricket, with his unbeaten 321 against Jammu and Kashmir in the Ranji Trophy in Vadodara.
His 321 off 492 balls, with 36 fours and a six, passed Gul Mohammad's 319 against Holkar in the 1946-47 final, a mark that had stood for nearly eight decades.
Moliya, 21, resumed day two on 113 not out and added 208 more runs, sharing a 232-run seventh-wicket stand with Mahesh Pithiya, who made 102, as Baroda piled up 616.
He is only the second Baroda batter to reach 300 in first-class cricket, and at 21 years and 132 days he is the seventh-youngest Indian to score a first-class triple century.
