New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner has confirmed that Tim Seifert will step in for Devon Conway in the first ODI against India at Eden Park in Auckland on Wednesday, 4 November, with the first ball at 7:30 AM IST.
Conway was ruled out of the opener earlier on Tuesday after suffering a concussion when he collided with fast bowler Matt Henry while both went for the same catch during a training session at Eden Park.
Santner said Seifert, already in the squad for the full series, will be a direct swap for Conway, and that Henry seems okay after his own head injury checks and remains in contention for selection, while Conway's return later in the five-match series will depend on further medical checks.
