Bangladesh opener Shadman Islam was stretchered off the field after twisting his left ankle while fielding on the second day of the Test against West Indies in Sylhet on Friday.
The 31-year-old slipped while chasing a ball towards the fine-leg boundary in the 78th over of West Indies' first innings and lay on the ground in pain for several minutes before medical staff carried him off.
Team physio Bayjedul Islam Khan said Shadman is under observation and will have an MRI scan to check the damage, and it is not yet clear if he will take any further part in the match.
Nayeem Hasan opened the batting with Tanzid Hasan in his place as Bangladesh replied to West Indies' 356.
