De Zorzi and Nortje Return as South Africa Name Test Squad for Bangladesh
South Africa have named a 15-member squad for the two-match Test series against Bangladesh, with top-order batter Tony de Zorzi and fast bowler Anrich Nortje returning from injury.
De Zorzi is back after a hamstring injury suffered in the one-day series against Australia in September, taking the place of David Bedingham, who has been dropped, while batter Zubayr Hamza, whose last Test came in February 2024, has also been recalled as an extra batting option.
Nortje returns after a groin injury that saw him bowl only 3.3 overs in the second Test against Australia before missing the series decider, and wicketkeeper-batter Kyle Verreynne has been left out after being benched during that series.
Captain Temba Bavuma leads the side, with the first Test at the Wanderers in Johannesburg from 15 November and the second at SuperSport Park in Centurion from 23 November.
