Tilak Varma Named Player of the Match After Match-Winning 51*

Tilak Varma was named Player of the Match after his unbeaten 51 off 26 balls won India the second T20I against New Zealand in Christchurch.

India had slipped to 112 for 6 in the 15th over, chasing 181, when Nitish Kumar Reddy joined Tilak in the middle.

The pair added an unbeaten 69 runs for the seventh wicket — India's highest seventh-wicket stand in T20Is — with Nitish finishing on 26 not out off 13 balls as India reached 181 for 6 with one ball to spare.

Tilak, who had earlier taken two catches to set a world record for most T20I catches in a calendar year, struck six fours and a six in his match-winning knock.
