Aamir Jamal Recalled as Pakistan Name Three Uncapped Players for Sri Lanka Tests
Pakistan have recalled pace-bowling all-rounder Aamir Jamal to their Test squad for the first Test against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi, starting on Monday, 9 November.
The Pakistan Cricket Board also handed maiden call-ups to batter Muhammad Tayyab Arif and fast bowlers Ali Shabbir and Saqib Khan, while left-arm spinner Ali Usman and opener Abdullah Fazal were released from the squad.
The revised 16-player squad, led by Babar Azam, now has eight players yet to play a Test, with the new faces picked after the three-day practice match against Sri Lanka in Islamabad, which the visitors won by 142 runs.
Jamal, who has played nine Tests for Pakistan, earned his recall with a strong domestic run, taking seven wickets for 32 runs and scoring 55 in the President's Trophy final.
The second Test is in Lahore from 17 November.
