Bangladesh have called up wicketkeeper-batter Amite Hasan for the second Test against West Indies in Sylhet, starting on 5 November, after Mominul Haque was ruled out with a head injury.

Mominul was hurt while fielding in the first Test and was replaced by concussion substitute Jaker Ali during the match.

Under the game's concussion rules, he must observe a mandatory minimum seven-day stand-down period before he can return to play.

Amite made his Test debut against Zimbabwe in June this year and has played one Test so far, but he carries a strong domestic red-ball record of 4040 runs in 54 matches at an average of 50.50.

Bangladesh trail the two-match series 0-1 after losing the first Test in Dhaka by eight wickets, despite taking a narrow 27-run first-innings lead.

West Indies chased 170 to win, with Brandon King unbeaten on 81 and John Campbell making 49, while Jomel Warrican took nine wickets in the match.

The defeat saw Bangladesh slip from fourth to fifth in the World Test Championship standings, and Najmul Hossain Shanto continues to captain the side for the Sylhet Test.
