India all-rounder Axar Patel has become the first Indian player to complete the double of 3,000 runs and 300 wickets in men's T20 cricket, reaching the landmark during the fourth T20I against New Zealand at Eden Park in Auckland on Friday.
Axar entered the match needing just one more wicket and got it by dismissing Finn Allen, bringing up his 300th T20 wicket in his 345th T20 match.
The milestone came in a heavy defeat for India, as New Zealand posted 259 for 7, powered by Glenn Phillips' 107 off 49 balls, and won by 87 runs with India finishing on 172 for 9.
India still lead the five-match series 3-1, with the final match in Hamilton on Sunday.
