Gujarat beat Kerala by an innings and 58 runs in their Ranji Trophy match in Ahmedabad, with Urvil Patel's unbeaten 210 setting up the big win.

Gujarat declared on 534 for 9 after Patel's maiden double century, an innings of 210 off 227 balls with 17 fours and six sixes, and he was named Player of the Match.

Kerala were bowled out for 279 and made to follow on, then dismissed for 197, with Arzan Nagwaswalla taking four wickets on the last day for match figures of eight for 83.

The win came with a bonus point and took Gujarat to 16 points, third in Elite Group C behind Maharashtra and Bengal, as the Ranji Trophy now stops for the white-ball tournaments.
