Hridoy Hits Maiden Test Double Century as Bangladesh Close In on West Indies Total

Towhid Hridoy reached his maiden Test double century as Bangladesh fought back on the third day of the second Test against West Indies in Sylhet.

Hridoy was unbeaten on 213 off 320 balls, with 20 fours and 8 sixes, as Bangladesh reached 345 for 8 after 102 overs, just 11 runs behind West Indies' first innings total of 356.

The 24-year-old had resumed the day on 29 and reached his maiden Test century just before lunch, then kept going after tea, passing 200 in the final session with Taskin Ahmed unbeaten on 2 at the other end.

His eight sixes are now the most by a Bangladeshi batter in a single Test innings, passing the old mark of seven, and his knock is already the highest score by a Bangladeshi against West Indies and the highest Test score at Sylhet.
