Virat Kohli passed Ricky Ponting to become the highest run-scorer against New Zealand in one-day cricket, during the second ODI at Hnry Stadium in Wellington.
Kohli needed just one run to move past Ponting's tally of 1,971 and did it with a boundary off the second ball he faced.
He fell for 7 soon after, caught by Will Young off Jacob Duffy, leaving his tally against New Zealand at 1,978, the most by any batter against them.
Ponting scored his 1,971 runs in 51 one-day matches against New Zealand, while Kohli has passed him in his 38th match against them, with India 17 for 2 in the chase of 135 when he fell.
