Amir Says IPL Auction Reports Are Not True

Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has said that reports linking him with the IPL 2027 auction are not true.

He posted a short clarification on social media on Monday, saying the news about the IPL was not true.

The reports had said Amir was expected to register for the mini-auction in Goa on 16 December as a British national, after he became a British citizen in May this year.

The talk grew after he registered for the Afghanistan Premier League draft in Dubai on 3 November as a UK national, where he is listed in the top Platinum category.

Amir, 34, last played for Pakistan at the 2024 T20 World Cup.

Pakistani players have not played in the IPL since the first season in 2008, and his clarification puts an end to the talk about this auction, though he has not closed the door on playing in the league at some point in the future.
