Pakistan have been fined five per cent of their match fee for a slow over-rate in the tri-series final against Sri Lanka at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Saturday, after being found one over short of the required rate once time allowances were taken into account.

Match referee Jeff Crowe imposed the sanction under Article 2.22 of the Code of Conduct, and captain Shaheen Shah Afridi pleaded guilty and accepted the sanction, so no formal hearing was needed.

Pakistan had won that final by three wickets, chasing 326 with nine balls to spare, and it was their second slow over-rate offence in the tournament after a 10 per cent fine for falling two overs short against Sri Lanka in the opener in Rawalpindi on 18 October.
