Rashid Khan Misses Zimbabwe Test Series on Medical Advice
Afghanistan star leg-spinner Rashid Khan will miss the two-match Test series against Zimbabwe in Sharjah, after team medical staff advised him not to play Test cricket for now because he is not fully fit.
Test captain Rahmat Shah said on Wednesday that the advice came from the medical staff and physio trainers, with Rashid's past back injury and the heavy workload of Test bowling in mind, and that he will return to the Test side as soon as he is fully fit.
Rashid remains a key part of Afghanistan's white-ball sides.
Opening batter Ibrahim Zadran is also out of the Test side on medical advice.
The first Test starts in Sharjah on Thursday, 5 November, with the second Test at the same venue from 13 November, and Rahmat Shah leads Afghanistan in the series.
