Stokell Admits Anti-Doping Breach, Enters Voluntary Suspension
Ireland batter Rebecca Stokell has admitted breaching the anti-doping code and has entered a voluntary suspension, after a sample she gave during an in-competition test on 23 June 2026 returned an adverse finding for a specified substance.
The breach arose from her use of prescription medication, and it was described as an inadvertent breach of the reporting requirements, with the substance involved said to be non-performance-enhancing and the matter not performance related in any way.
Her voluntary suspension took effect on 23 October 2026 and will stay in place pending the outcome of the disciplinary process, and Stokell, who has played 29 one-day matches and 80 Twenty20 matches for Ireland since her debut in 2017, said she fully accepts her mistake and hopes to return to playing for Ireland as soon as possible.
