Australia fast bowler Mitchell Starc has reclaimed the top spot in the ICC men's Test bowling rankings, moving up one place to No.

1 after his nine-wicket haul in the final Test against South Africa at Cape Town.

Starc took 6 for 72 in the first innings and 3 for 65 in the second as Australia lost the match by 176 runs and the series 2-1, but his match haul was enough to push him past South Africa all-rounder Marco Jansen, who managed only three wickets in the same match after taking the top spot just a week earlier.

Starc finished as the leading wicket-taker of the three-match series with 15 wickets, and he first reached No.

1 in August after ending Jasprit Bumrah's time at the top, before Jansen took over following his six wickets in the second Test at Gqeberha.

South Africa spinner Simon Harmer also climbed nine places to seventh after his maiden 10-wicket match haul earned him Player of the Match in the Cape Town decider, while Jansen kept his place at the top of the Test all-rounders' rankings with a new career-high rating after his half-century in the same match.
