Fifteen-year-old Karnataka all-rounder Uma Kashvi has become the youngest player ever sold at a Women's Premier League auction, after Delhi Capitals signed her for Rs 10 lakh in Kochi on Wednesday.

She broke the record held by Deeya Yadav, who was picked by Delhi Capitals at the age of 16 last year.

Kashvi went unsold in the first round before Delhi Capitals picked her up in the accelerated round at her base price.

Kashvi, a right-handed batter who bowls off-spin, scored 516 runs at an average of 172 in the latest Women's Under-15 One-Day Tournament, including three centuries and a half-century.

She has also played for India Under-19 against Sri Lanka Under-19, taking four wickets in three T20 matches and two more in the one-day games.
