Anderson Takes New Role as Napoli Knights Co-Owner in Italy's T10 League

England great James Anderson has taken on a new role in cricket as co-owner of Napoli Knights, the Naples team in Italy's new Italia T10 League, days after his 25-year stay at Lancashire came to an end.

The 44-year-old will share ownership of the team with former Lancashire wicketkeeper Luke Sutton, whose company Activate Sport and Leisure will run the franchise, and he is also set to captain the side.

The six-team league will run from 18 to 29 November at the Roma Cricket Ground in Rome, and it aims to grow the game in Italy, whose national team played in the T20 World Cup for the first time earlier this year.

Anderson, England's leading Test wicket-taker, retired from international cricket in 2024 but kept playing county cricket, and he said he is excited by the chance to stay involved in the game in a completely different way.
