Jaiswal Hits Century as India A Build Lead in Christchurch
Yashasvi Jaiswal has scored a century for India A on the final day of the second unofficial Test against New Zealand A at Hagley Oval in Christchurch.
Jaiswal had reached 112 not out off 123 balls as India A moved to 195 for 2 in their second innings, turning the 46-run deficit they carried into the final day into a lead of 117 runs, with Yash Rathod unbeaten on 56 alongside him.
India A lost two early wickets in the morning, with Devdutt Padikkal falling for a golden duck, before Jaiswal and Rathod steadied the innings and pushed the visitors in front.
The century is a strong comeback for Jaiswal, who was out for a duck in the first innings, when India A made 346 in reply to New Zealand A’s 424, which had given the hosts a 78-run first-innings lead.
