Gurnoor Brar's 4 for 30 Is the Best by an Indian in New Zealand in 24 Years

Gurnoor Brar's career-best 4 for 30 in the second ODI against New Zealand at Hnry Stadium in Wellington on Saturday is the best bowling by an Indian in New Zealand in 24 years.

Only two Indians have better figures in one-day internationals in New Zealand — Anil Kumble's 5 for 33 in Wellington in 1994 and Javagal Srinath's 4 for 23 in Auckland — making Brar's spell the third-best by an Indian in the country and the second-best by an Indian fast bowler.

Brar removed Tom Latham, Glenn Phillips and captain Mitchell Santner as India bowled New Zealand out for 134 in 41 overs, and he is now the leading wicket-taker in the five-match series with seven wickets at an average of 10.57.

India went on to win the rain-hit match by four runs on the DLS method to take a 2-0 lead, with Brar named Player of the Match, and the third ODI is in Hamilton on Tuesday.
