Hardik Pandya will miss the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy as his return to competitive cricket is delayed again, with the all-rounder left out of Baroda's 15-member squad for the domestic T20 tournament, which begins on 14 November.
Hardik has not played competitive cricket since 24 May, when he last turned out for Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2026.
A fresh shin injury, picked up while bowling during his rehabilitation, forced him out of India A's one-day squad against Australia A in October, and he has since been recovering at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru from back spasms picked up during the IPL and a leg strain.
His brother Krunal Pandya will captain Baroda, who open their campaign against Chandigarh in Mumbai on 14 November.
