Gurnoor Brar Named Player of the Match for 4 for 30 in Wellington

Gurnoor Brar was named Player of the Match in the second ODI at Hnry Stadium in Wellington after his career-best 4 for 30 bowled New Zealand out for 134.

The tall pacer struck twice in one over to remove Tom Latham and Glenn Phillips, then came back to dismiss Mitchell Santner and Nathan Smith, finishing with two maidens in his 10 overs.

India went on to win the rain-hit match by four runs on the DLS method, with KL Rahul unbeaten on 26 when the rain came, to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.

Brar said he enjoyed the bounce and pace on offer in Wellington, where bowling the hard length brought its rewards, and India now carry the series lead into the third ODI.
