India-Sri Lanka ODI Opener Likely to Move Out of Delhi
The first one-day international between India and Sri Lanka, set for 13 December at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, is likely to be moved out of the capital.
The Delhi cricket association has asked the cricket board to shift the match, pointing to winter air pollution in the city and the ongoing work at the ground.
The stadium outfield is being changed to a sand-based surface, a job that will take around four months and is not expected to finish in time for the December match.
Delhi has already moved its home Ranji Trophy games to the Airforce Complex Ground in Palam because of the work.
No new venue has been confirmed yet, and the board has not announced any change to the schedule.
The other two matches of the series are set for Bengaluru on 16 December and Ahmedabad on 19 December.
The board had earlier denied reports that the Delhi match would move, so the final call is still awaited.
The move is only likely at this stage, not confirmed.
