India Win Toss and Bowl First as Rohit and Kohli Return for ODI Opener

India have won the toss and chosen to bowl first in the first ODI against New Zealand at Eden Park in Auckland on Wednesday, after rain pushed the toss back from 7:00 AM IST to 7:20 AM IST.

Play is set to begin at 7:40 AM IST with no overs lost, and captain Shubman Gill pointed to the overcast skies behind the call to field first in the five-match series opener.

India's confirmed team is Shubman Gill (captain), Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, KL Rahul (wicketkeeper), Naman Dhir, Anshul Kamboj, Auqib Nabi, Gurnoor Brar and Arshdeep Singh, with Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Siraj among those left out.

New Zealand, led by Mitchell Santner, bat first with Tim Seifert, Will Young, Henry Nicholls, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Latham (wicketkeeper), Glenn Phillips, Santner, Nathan Smith, Kyle Jamieson, Jacob Duffy and Blair Tickner — Seifert opening in place of Devon Conway, who misses the opener after a training collision.
