Jansen Reaches 100 Test Wickets as South Africa Hit Back in Cape Town
South Africa fast bowler Marco Jansen reached 100 wickets in Test cricket on Day 2 of the deciding third Test against Australia at Newlands in Cape Town on Wednesday.
Jansen, playing his 24th Test, brought up the landmark by dismissing Matt Renshaw for 74, caught behind by Ryan Rickelton, after entering the match on 99 wickets — becoming the 18th South African to reach 100 Test wickets and the joint-fourth fastest for his country, alongside Peter Pollock.
He struck again shortly after, removing Cameron Green for 65, as the pair's 126-run stand was broken and Australia slipped to 191 for 4 at tea, still 138 runs behind South Africa's first-innings total of 329.
Earlier in the match, Jansen had scored 52 with the bat to help South Africa past 300 in their first innings.
