New Zealand fast bowler Blair Tickner was ruled out of the rest of the second ODI against India at Hnry Stadium in Wellington on Saturday after being struck on the helmet by a bouncer from Anshul Kamboj.

The blow came on the first ball of the 41st over, and Tickner was dismissed for 2 later in the same over when Kamboj's yorker bowled him, with New Zealand bowled out for 134 in 41 overs.

Team medical staff assessed Tickner on the field, and the team later confirmed he would take no further part in the match and is being monitored, with Matt Fisher coming in as the concussion substitute — and Fisher struck in India's chase, removing Axar Patel for 7.

India went on to win the rain-hit match by four runs on the DLS method to take a 2-0 lead in the five-match series, and Tickner is the second New Zealand player to suffer concussion in the series after opener Devon Conway, who was ruled out after a training collision.
